About Heather MacCormac, RMT, RRT, CST, GTCC, Rapid Specialist
Meet Heather MacCormac
Heather is an intuitive healer and a multi-disciplined therapeutic body worker and therapist with a strong belief in the art of gently working the body systems and skeletal structures to allow the body to access its own innate intelligence and ability to heal itself.
She is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and graduate of the 2200 hour massage therapy program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydro Therapy (CCMH). Heather is a member of the Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS).
Heather is also a Registered Foot Reflexology Therapist and a member of the Reflexology Association of Canada (RAC), a Craniosacral Therapist (CST), a Reiki Master/Teacher, a certified Graston Technique clinician (GTCC), and a RAPID Neurofascial Reset Specialist.
“I originally named my company Clarity Garden: Reiki and Wellness Services because I have always said Reiki was my first love of therapies. It’s intuitive and therapeutic. As my disciplines increased I decided to venture out on my own and renamed my business Clarity Garden Wellness Clinic.”
Graston Technique®
In 2015, Heather traveled to Boston, Massachusetts and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to study Graston Technique. Graston Technique® is an innovative, evidence-based form of instrumentassisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively address and breakdown scar tissue and fascial restrictions through comprehensive training, resulting in improved patient outcomes. This therapy is traditionally taught with chiropractic studies.
The technique utilizes specially-designed stainless steel instruments, along with appropriate therapeutic exercise, to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Getting certified in Graston Technique® was a big deal for Heather as a therapist – not only because it would prove to be a “game changer” technique to add to her already staked list of skills – but she earned the title of becoming the only RMT in Eastern Canada with this designation.
Most recently, in February 2023, Heather completed her Specialist level in RAPID Neurofascial Reset.
This is a neurologically based, active, therapeutic technique that addresses the central nervous systems role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body.
RAPID is an evidence based manual therapy that can be used by health care professionals to quickly and effectively eliminate pain.
Heather continues to enhance and refine her skills and gain accuracy and sensitivity both physically and energetically by attending annual workshops and training.
